Fahy Travel, Galway, the West of Ireland’s longest established travel agency has scooped yet another international award at a black-tie ceremony in the Cotswold, England. Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the world’s largest cruise industry trade association with representation in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia awarded Fahy Travel the Innovation Award of the year for it’s incredible launch and growth of their Cruise Worldwide and Wedding at Sea offering at their Galway store.
Maura Fahy, Director of Fahy Travel representing the agency on the night said; “We have been a travel agency for over 100 years changing with the times and the ever-changing world of the travel industry. Last year, 2019 we launched Cruise Worldwide in January and Weddings at Sea in June with Fahy Travel Manager and now Weddings at Sea Director Caroline O’Toole the main instigator of the cruise initiative. Caroline saw an opportunity and ran with it. She took on the cruise industry with the support of fellow Cruise Specialist Fiona Flaherty and with only 1 year after the launch to be recognised for Innovation in cruising makes me so proud of all the team.”
The latest award comes on the back of a string of awards won by Fahy Travel in 2019.They were also awarded Best Performing Agency in Ireland for Group Business with MSC Cruise Lines, Over All Winner of TTG Top 50 Travel Agency in Ireland & UK, Connacht Travel Agent of the Year by the Irish Travel Trade News (ITTN), Best Travel Agency 2019 by RSVP Travel Awards and Finalists in the Galway Chamber of Commerce Business Awards for SME.
