Spain reopens 1st July

The Spanish president, Pedro Sanchez, relaunched tourism for this summer and invited establishments (bars, restaurants, beach destinations) to be ready to welcome Spanish holidaymakers and encouraged Spaniards to take advantage of the wonders of their nation. He said “in July… Spain will resume for foreign tourists with security conditions, therefore, you can now also plan your holidays in Spain. Spain needs tourism and tourism needs security, security at origin and security at destination. That’s why we will guarantee that tourists will run no risk and they will not bring risks to our county”.

“Spanish tourism, in addition to its art, culture, gastronomy, beaches and landscape, will add two more hallmarks: that of health safety and environmental sustainability. Spain awaits you from July. Whoever visits Spain can count on stepping on safe ground, with a health guarantee and commitment to the sustainability of the planet”.

Spanish Government is working on the development of tourist experiences "from a safe healthy-origin to a healthy destination"

The Minister of Transport, Mobility & Urban Agenda, José Luis Ábalos said, "We have to make Spain an attractive country from a healthy point of view. Tourism wants confidence. We are working on adapting our airports to the European Commission’s guidelines and recommendations,” he said, highlighting that they have been elaborated by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), in accordance with the ECDC, which are guidelines for all States in the EU.

Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality (ICTE) developed Technical Guides (protocols) for Spain to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The guides are for providers across the tourism sub-sectors including catering, accommodation, spas, travel agencies, spas, active tourism and ecotourism, museums and heritage sites, tourist guides and information offices, golf courses, protected natural spaces and unique public spaces, beaches, MICE tourism, visits to wineries, industrial organizations, cultural and historical places, nautical sports facilities, tourist road transport, theme parks and nightlife.
